I Am a Cat Lover [Cats]

Right now I live in an apartment and my lease doesn't allow pets. But as soon as I move, I am going to get a place that allows pets because I miss having a cat. I don't understand why I can't have just one cat. I have always been a very responsible pet owner when I had cats in the past and would I always keep the box clean. And since cats don't bark and make a lot of noise like dogs, I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, if it claws at anything it will be MY furniture, and so it's not like it would destroy the walls or floors!
