My precious Chew Chew had surgery.

How am I supposed to keep a hyper Chihuahua calm, no running, no jumping, no major activity for 21 days? Had a miner surgery on the skin of his knee and that's what the vet told me.

Thr vet doesn't want the stiches to tear.

Just like a human .

If you cant keep your baby from being himself - you can do stuff to help keep the wound stable.

- Maybe a strip or two of those skinny wound tapes to help take any potential presure off the stitches.

- a dry, non adhesive dressing, covered by a light bandage to keep the wound clean, and reduce movement of the knee. (Like you would a wrist or any other joint)

- and in the evenings after bandage removal to allow air to it - some (non toxic) ointment to keep the skin soft and flexible and heal faster .

Pets are like kids....you cant stop them - all you can do is work around it.

Actually.... I just remembered something:
There is a great type of badage that is non adhesive, requires no tape or pin to secure it.
I used to get this for my dogs when they were healing :
A video shows you better .[media=https://youtu.be/1mbeLlJBDOU]

Its TERRIFIC.
Its also harder to chew off than a normal bandage.

And it comes in pretty colours 😅

@OogieBoogie this is what I came up with.

@OogieBoogie wish I could show you a video of him walking. It's so funny, but adorable. But I don't know how to do it.

Tramadol. A small dosage will make your dog sleepy and quiet them down. The vet can prescribe.

@Livingwell I take that so I can sleep. Lol
