How TF is my landlord inviting all tenants to a pet celebration event

Well, either they have pets (maybe it's allowed if you pay so much?)

Or as @NudasPriest said and I didn't think about, it's a trap.

Or they're just hoping you invite others to come and the others adopt pets...

Will a tual pets be there or is it perhaps a fund raiser for an animal shelter or something?
