We had to put up a beloved pet for adoption at an animal shelter

We had to put our 7 year old Belgian Malinois for adoption because Levi attacked our new dog Keke and almost mauled her. He had a history of attacking other dogs. He attacked a German shepherd puppy about a year old several years ago named Brody. He attacked a four month old puppy named Delgado. He has gotten into dog fights at the dog park but I’m not sure if the other dogs started it or not. He was mostly a good dog except for these attacks. He also bit me and tore my cheek off when I hugged him, ( it was my fault for putting my arms around him and putting my face into the crook of his neck.) he growled quickly and bit me hard. He never showed me any aggression after that. He always wanted to play and be friends. Even the trainer said he didn’t mean to hurt me. For most part he was a beloved pet who made us laugh and was our best friend.he was protective and loyal to our family. Now instead of two dogs like we hoped Levi would accept Keke because she was female and not male , we only have one. I miss Levi so much. I remember him as a puppy before he became dog aggressive. And even at a year or two old wasn’t dog aggressive yet. My family cried and so did I. We hope he gets placed in a nice home where he is the only dog and can be a companion to someone who likes to be active. He is from a farm in Amish country. He never trained to be a military or police dog and. Has gastrointestinal disease that he needs to be on a special diet. For otherwise he would get massive diarrhea. He had never shown an ounce of aggression to any human child at least. Animal control took him away yesterday. It was a sad day. He never showed. Aggression to any other human. Although he had this strange habit of sniffing my dirty underwear. In the laundry basket and taking it out and ripped two or three pairs of my panties to shreds.

So you knew your dog had aggression issues and you still got another dog? Unbelievable! You know they’ll put him to sleep don’t you?
@ineedadrink she has been here 9 years, if trolling would have caught something by now,

@Bleed I hope not we hope he can be adopted out to a loving family who has him as the only pet perhaps as a guard dog. My sister got another dog down in Tennessee and came to live back home after things didn’t work out for her there. She brought her dog back with her or would have to leave her at the shelter again. She thought about giving her dog to her close friend if Levi didn’t accept her. But Levi attacked her and that was the last straw.

@Onryo we tried to keep them together. My sister adopted the new dog down in Tennessee. Her old dog stayed with my family to be taken care of. She moved back into the house with her new newer dog who is very submissive and docile. We thought her old dog would accept a female and they could be taken care of together but he attacked her viciously and was a grave danger to her. We had no choice so think before you say we are despicable. We are wanting him to be rehomed to maybe an ex-military or ex-police individual who has experience handling Malinois. We spent thousands on medications and special diet food. We gave him love and attention after he showed aggressive behavior and didn’t give him up sooner when most owners would have. So please think before saying we don’t deserve dogs.
