I just got one for my kitty about a month ago, he started using it right away.
He had been used to drinking from the bathroom sink and I would leave the water running a little bit so he was already used to drinking running water.
It might take him a very short time to get used to it, but don’t worry, cats seem naturally drawn to moving water

@Onestarlitnight You're exactly right. They love moving water, and he does, too! Trust me. He's constantly trying to make his water "move".
I think I scared him as I placed the tank on the floor. I might have even said "No" without thinking. No, I think I just made a loud noise when I put the top on.
I can't remember.
I'll just return it.
I need him eating. The water fountain is scaring him now.
Honestly, I just want him eating and drinking water. He can continue drinking from a cup on the coffee table. I just know he likes tipping it over. I wanted him to have a different option that he can't turn over.
