Does you dog check your home to make sure it's safe?

Whenever we get in, Bruno will go in after me but as I remove my shoes he will push open the doors to inspect the flat to make sure that no one is here.
If ever I've tried to go into my bedroom before him he nudges me out the way.
One time he even barked at me...
I didn't know what he was doing at first I thought he was being defiant, but one day I let him do his thing and this is his routine.

He's very sweet and in all honesty I know I moan about some of his behaviour here but I think it's really sweet that he wants to look after me the way he does.

We've had a very interesting week, mostly me trying to keep my distance because I have this god awful cold and a cough that really bites.
But he's been especially cuddly.

Where I was feeling a little better today I took it upon myself to let him stay up a little later and to play some ball in the flat where its warmer.
He must have had fun because he crashed on the floor after letting out a great big sigh.
