@nedkelly That's so sad. I watched my 2nd dog put to sleep, I was there for her on her first day, I used to wake up in the middle of the night to make sure she was alive & I didn't roll over her (she slept with me) & I had to be the one who took her to the vet to put her down. I held her in my arms & petted her until she died. Her last gesture was to lick my hand.....
