I Have Lost a Beloved Pet

I lost my pet a couple of days ago and it's been hard. He was in pain and sick. Since it was a holiday on the day he died vets we're closed and there was an emergency pet hospital that had said they were open, it took my family about an hour to get there only to see that there was a closed sign and the doors were locked. I knew my pet wouldn't make it but I wanted to go to the vet to put him down so that he wouldn't be in anymore pain but unfortunately that wasn't possible. He passed when I was asleep.
