I Have Lost a Beloved Pet

Another one of the best dogs ever took his last breath. He gave 100% of his love and attention for the 11 years he was with us. I never did know his breeder nor the faults he saw when this great dog was a pup. Lucky thing for all of us is that he knew an aunt and uncle of mine, if only enough to offer them an "unsellable" four month old pup for their farm. They were semi-retired, helping their adult kids and grandkids run the farm, and began trying to train this pup to be their first indoor pet. They were doing an excellent job but were concerned that he needed to be around more active people and offered him to me and my husband when he was 8 months old. It was all fun and games after that...
It is a little depressing to think of how quickly eleven years can pass but I'm grateful to have had another one of the best dogs ever and all of the memories he created with us.

I'm so sorry that you had to lose him. It's always hard to say goodbye, even after they've been with you for a long time. In fact, it's probably even harder then, after all they've come to mean to you. I hope your memories of him will bring you joy. It sounds like they do, and that's a good thing. They really are a part of the family.

@TeresaRudolph71 Thank you. I heard long ago and agree that a dog will give you all of their good days... and one of your worst. He won't be forgotten.

@wasityou You're welcome. And I think that's very true.
