I Am a Witch

I've been reigniting my witchcraft lately, having been inspired by the history of witchcraft in Europe and the heretical movements in France. There's a whole world to connect with, and I've been trying to get in touch. I'm working on seeing myself as being-in-the-world, rather than as something separate from it. That's the key to witchcraft: we don't see the world as something inherently to be exploited. We believe that we are at our best when we cultivate a harmonious relationship with the world.

My current focus is my body. A reading I did last night caused me to focus on that aspect of myself, something which seems intuitive, but I've been neglecting it. To be successful with magick, I must come to know my body and my desirous self, to cultivate my beauty, however I interpret that. I must not forget that my physical body is a part of the physical world, and it is a mistake to forget the former for the sake of the latter. This means that I will further integrate magick into my everyday being, so that my acknowledgement of my body and how it works in my world becomes routine and fluid.

@Carazaa The KJV Bible is a bastardization of the revolutionary potential Christianity once had, and its proclamations against all forms of what it considers to be witchcraft are the result of hegemonic Catholic meddling. I much prefer the writings of the Cathars, who understood much more about the nature of scripture and did not forbid people from interacting with the spiritual realm. Indeed, they encouraged it with great vigour, and women were some of the elite spiritual leaders of the time. This is because the proclamations against witches are merely the Catholic church's attempt to stamp out the power of women and queer people. I have no sympathy for Catholic corruption.

In Hosea God told a story of Joshua who loved a woman and married her and she was whoring around town. Joshua went to find her, and he found her in the town square taking bids from men. Joshua loved her and gave the highest bid for her. He bought her back!
