Why? You have a problem with the supernatural or is it crap from the "Christian" perspective? I don't know you well enough to assume which.

@AkioTsukino not from a christian perspective. I'm just cynical about things that aren't reproducible....like life after death and a god who cares about people.
@originnone I'm instinctually cynical but by nature skeptical. There's a great deal of fakery that's reproducible, and a great deal of reality unreproducible. You can't reproduce life after death, but you can't reproduce it's negation. The Bible says that a few people have been temporarily brought back from the dead. Medical science has said the same. In the question of a God who cares about people you have to ask yourself which God, how does he express that care, to which people and why and then to what end.

@AkioTsukino I don't buy the examples of life after death through example. Have you seen the people who talk about it? THey're fruitcakes.
@originnone If you're talking about near death experiences I don't think they are necessarily fruitcakes. Some are, but that doesn't necessarily reflect on the subject. I think NDE is natural chemicals of the brain coupled with the abstract cultural beliefs of religion. If you're talking about "Christians" I think they sincerely believe the good go to heaven and the bad go to hell even though that's a theological rather than a Biblical teaching. They've been deceived and the deception has become their impractical idealism. If you're talking about the actual Biblical concept of resurrection to everlasting life - the meek will inherit the earth - that is a matter of faith, not science.

@AkioTsukino ....excellent summation! I've never seen someone talk about an nde who wasn't a fruitcake...though I obviously haven't seen everyone who has had one.
