I came from a home of physical abuse. My father was a wife and child beater. That’s how I got my epilepsy: my father punched me in the head at the age of 5 when I tried to stop him from beating my mom. However, I realize that is totally different from what you’re asking, and I get that.

After my father was out of the picture, I still got spanked with a belt. I believe it happened more often to me than to my little sister, but I was also very naughty and didn’t like to listen or obey very well. I was always the defiant one, kind of like seeing how far I could push the buttons, I guess you could say.

Do I agree with what’s going on in the photo? Not really, and I’m going to explain myself. Let’s say I caught my daughter in the act when she was in highschool. I can’t be mad about something 90% of teenagers try. It’s life, and young people are full of hormones that they don’t know how to handle. Yes, many are going to say, “But Human, what if your daughter was with a guy and got pregnant?” That is a valid point, too. See, we are not liberals or conservatives or anything. We are just trying to survive and want our kids to make smart choices. So, we talked about sex freely and openly once they became teenagers and made sure it wasn’t a taboo subject.

Am I against spanking and corporal punishment? No, I am not. I am against it when it gets used as abuse or when the child is almost an adult. I’d say about 8 or 10 is a good age where spanking and corporal punishment are no longer needed for discipline.

Do I object to this post? Not at all; as a matter of fact, it gave me a way to say a few things.

Do I like spanking myself? Ahhhh, YEAH, and I like to give them as well. I like to fight for power and control in the bedroom. It’s what keeps our marriage fun, exciting, and not boring.

I will not tell you what I think of a father that hits a 5 year old in the head, or what I would want to see done with him ...it would make the horrors that came out of the Medieval Tower of London look pale in comparison ...sorry.
