That is indeed odd! Clouds can show strange behaviour, indicating waves, vortices and other fluid effects in the atmosphere.

@ArishMell The peaks of the Sierra Nevada are acting here. They are up to 13000 feet above sea level.
Already covered in snow.

I’m about 600 feet up, in the foothills.
