The Moon is My Lullaby

The moon is my lullaby, piercing the black- blue night
A silent witness to my tears
It sings so quietly that I cannot make out its melody
Still, it seems to whisper to me:
Despair can be overtaken by the light

Its silver strands caress me, wooing me to rest
Bathing the room in soft light
Promising that tomorrow the sun will rise again
The waking world is much too busy to hear the lullaby
It waits only for daylight to be at an end

Once again I will climb those stairs
Seeking out my peace alone
In darkness, tears, and familiar spaces
Waiting for those silver chords to start
When once again, the moon becomes my lullaby

I share your thoughts. What a glorious lullaby she is! I need to find the poem I wrote, although yours puts my humble crumbs to shame.

Thanks for sharing.🌙✨
