The Moon itself does not change from night to night, all we see is the changing sunlight on it; and in clear air away from light pollution you can often just see the outline of the dark area.
There was a partial eclipse the other night, visible from here in Southern England, but it was only very partial, less than a tenth of the area, when I saw it in the early hours of the morning.
