The moon has a 28 day cycle, approximately, so every once in a while there will be two full moons during a single calendar month. That second full moon is called a blue moon, but I do not know why.
The moon's orbit is an ellipse, so its distance from the Earth varies during the month. When its closest approach to Earth occurs at full moon that is called a super full moon.
We have both going on at the same time this month.
