I think the Brits are the only people who would mourn for their head of state.

Well North Koreans would too, but forcibly.
The rest of us would be partying, maybe except for a few stuck up political supporters who act as if politicians are their daddies or something.

Idk

In Thailand they are hugely patriotic, they play the national anthem at the cinema before a film screening.

The queen is loved. She reigned for such a long time most if us dint know any different. And we are in such awful tines with a crisis in the economy, a country without sound leadership, and every institution laden with corruption to lose the queen at such a time is very sad.

*was.
Was loved 😥

@BabyLonia it's different to be patriotic and to support specific politicians. Unless they support all of them blindly just because they are leading their state.

I guess it will feel weird for you for a little while but hang in there 🖤

@HannibalAteMeOut this is in reverence to their king , not their politicians.

I am sad but also curious. This is a time when there will be rituals, will sports events be cancelled? Will pubs close? Are schools open tomorrow? Our cathedral had closed its doors, lowered the flag and were ringing her bells

@HannibalAteMeOut also politicians stay for a few years, rarely more than a decade. She was my queen for the whole of my life

@BabyLonia have they not announced yet what's going to happen and for how long?
Yeah I think part of why it's such a big deal is because she was in this position for as long as most people remember themselves.

@HannibalAteMeOut no-one knows

I think it is a 12 day mourning period with one day that is a national holiday
