An alien race appears in front of you

When you are walking along a path by yourself, there is a flash of light and then an alien is suddently standing in front of you. Before you can even say hello it hands you a device with a series of buttons on top (+, -, GO, and a digital display showing today's date and time) and then steps back, smiles, and says "for time travel". Then it vanishes.
What do you do with it?

What an interesting question. So many mysteries and unanswered questions..... although there is one particular mistake that would not change the course of my life that I'd want to correct.

The idea of investing in stocks might be one thing, but problematic - since the gov't would want you to pay taxes on your yields.... maybe go check next weeks winning lotto number?

@VeronicaJane Oh yea, that's a good idea. Change the fate of the future, don't mess with the existing timeline. Keep popping forward to get the numbers and come right back. Maybe go 5 years ahead and collect them all.
I wonder if you change the future, do the lottery ticket numbers also change?
