Last month I moved to a new place, and across the street is a pond. I had never visited the pond before today, yet in the past few weeks, sometimes I saw tall birds walking in the water while driving by.
This morning I decided to pull over. I found a path. I saw two tall white birds, one deer, and lots of ducks. All these animals are sort of small below, even on zoom.
There is a creek next to it. I do not know if the pond is an overflow of the creek, or just a rainwater retention pond made as part of the development. I think the latter. The whole area is new. My apartment complex (which is in the background of the first image, as a matter of fact) is four years old.
To the right off the frame are rows of condos and homes that were under construction only a year ago (I had considered this apartment complex last year). To the left off the frame is another apartment complex which was just finished this summer, and beyond is yet more construction. Something large and made of wood: perhaps more housing.
I need to start taking walks in my neighborhood. At first I was lazy, and also I was worried about safety since crime rates in my new county are higher than my old. But I need to exercise, and I have calmed down about safety.
