I like rivers and lakes

When i want some time to relax and chill out i love to get my kayak and go for a paddle on the river. I live not far from Stratford upon avon. Just down from the town is a place where i can park and have a drink and food then paddle up to the Shakespeare theatre. There is a small cafe where i have a cup of tea then paddle back to my car. Grate way to spend a Sunday

It is a lovely town and area.

A lot more than just the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Bard himself. It was a major inland port in the 18-19C. This could have been the birth-place of the modern, public railway too - i.e. one available generally for the carriage of goods and passengers rather than simply a private tramway serving a mine or quarry.

I rather like that WW2 themed tea-room in the town centre - though I don't suppose a real one would have been able to serve the range and portions this one does!
