What would happen

If the ocean currents World wide came to a stop
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Waves, like the weather, are driven by the rotation of the Earth.
Gravity relies on this rotation.

If the rotation stops, gravity diminishes, and there's nothing to hold anything to the surface of the planet

@Picklebobble2 no wait ... I thought gravity exists by itself... ???

Europe would freeze, the tropics would super heat and plankton would die, no flow of nutrients anymore

@Patty81 watch this little demonstration of how the weakening Gulf Stream which fosters odd weather patterns...is caused my melting icecaps worldwide..

We'd all fly off.

There'd be no more waves, and poets would go extinct.

Surfers would be unhappy.

Perhaps:

Europe would turn into Siberia due to the end of the Gulf Stream.

The US South would destertify due to no more Atlantic and Gulf storms.

No more monsoons in India.

Antarctica would start to melt due to the breakdown of the circumpolar current which insulates it.

You will find out soon. Possibly next year
