There is a place I use to go all the time that would always help me clear my head, calm my heart and just allow me to be for a few moments no matter how loud or stressful things got around me. It wasn't hard to find or get to, but it did amazing things that no other place could do for me.
When I had a bad break up or lost a friend, I went there. Come rain or shine, if things got out of hand or my depression hit hard, I went there. I would always walk to the end and sit, listen, breathe in and just let it all wash away.
I took many people there when not feeling or dealing with these things, but never told anyone why it was special to me. Most probably thought because I was a beach bum it was and that works for me.
I haven't been there in years, it's still there, still amazing, but I just can't do it like I use to. But I do plan on it, I will return to it.
We all need a place that does that for us or even a person. Anything that helps us center ourselves is a good thing. Hold on to it as long as you can, but don't be afraid to let go when the time is right to move on.
Here's a pic of my place, what's yours?

@Loretta78 I loved Germany. I was stationed there twice, from 84-87 and 88-90. First time in the small town of Crailsheim and the second was in Ansbach. Loved my time there, the people, places and food was amazing. Many fond memories.
@Loretta78 It's wonderful here for the most part. Central to the ocean and beaches, deserts to the East and the mountains where it snows some winters. Only problem is the amount of tourists, but can't complain, that's a huge amount of the city income. 😊
@Loretta78 I'm lucky to be here true, but I have found some place every where I have ever lived. I try to at least. But the ocean has always been special to me. Another spot, though many might not find it as great is the Painted Gorge and then there is King's Canyon.
Couldn't find any good pictures of the Gorge, but it's in the desert. A series of canyons with different colored layers of sediment in the walls making it look striped in natural hues. A bit small but an idea.
@MrPerditus1 What truly beautiful pictures!! 🤗 And the thing you've said about the desert and the different colored layers of sediment is very interesting! 😊
I guess being in such a desert must be truly adventurous and interesting.
In Germany we have also an absolutely great nature: The sea, mountains and forests. 😊
@Loretta78 The desert has so much to offer if only people take the time to look. I use to go camping out there all the time. It's amazing. But thank you, I too love nature, have always thanks to my mother really. 😊
I got to see a bit of Germany while there, mostly Southern and loved it. So beautiful there. I learned to ski on the Zugspitze.
Though have to say one of my favorite places to visit was Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
And once again, must thank you for your comments, you've put a smile on my face tonight. 🤗 Greatly appreciated.
@MrPerditus1 I use to live in California too. I was in Long Beach and didn't like it there. Up north is so much better! I use to go camping in Kings Canyon where people can no longer go!
