I Absolutely Love the Ocean

One of my favorite places to be is on one of our most treasure points, where California's first lighthouse was built. It's a spiritual place for me, a sanctuary. I went there yesterday to say my peace to those dear to me that I've lost. Yesterday, I was there for my father. The tide was very low and the outer waters were choppy. I know that if he were ever able to come this way, he would have loved this spot. Now, he is there in spirit with me. The others I visited there are as well. I feel whole again and will for a few weeks until I feel the need to see them again.

I am a recreational sailor, cruising and racing, I have been for over forty years and I own several boats our family boat was my late Fathers and I do all the maintenance and most of the repair work on it. I have kept it to a high level of operating and structural / cosmetic condition and it has proven to be relevant to my Family as well updating systems continually and it always was a great sailing boat, now it just does more things. My Dad would LOVE what his boat has evolved into and my Mother spends weekends on board with us through out the summer. I tell her that one of my jobs is to keep her from getting old while she is getting older. We stay in an idyllic spot on an island at a private club and very much revel in sailing the boat on the lake - fresh water - which is good to keep Old boats in good condition. I keep many old things, one being my Wife's Grandfathers car and if you can believe it no one else in her family even wanted it. Seems to be to be a distinct lack of respect involved.
