I THINK it's a joke, but who knows? As I've stated before, if you shower with your clothes on you same laundromat money, a definite consideration for many college students and others.

Maybe to distinguish it from showering off the chlorine or seawater at the pool or beach under a public showerhead?

When the washing machine's broken it can be a lifesaver -- showering with your clothes on, that is.
