Dove only has a second but flew by here to correct about Mourning Doves... Dol was right...that's how the common ones look, they mate for life and when their mate dies, they mourn themselves literally to death. They build their nests in high places, care for their young until they can take care of themselves(i witnessed myself) and have 2-3 "nestlings" each year usually. They represent peace (that is the most common representation but also represent purity). In the old testament, it was the poor mans sacrifice. My grandmother who was AI taught me about them.
I don't know about all species of dove, but my Dove are how I described.
