Does nudity signify consent?

No, nudity does not signify consent.

Key Facts About Nudity and Consent

• Not an Invitation: Being naked does not mean a person is agreeing to sexual activity, nor does it give anyone permission to touch them or share images of them.
• Context Matters: People are nude for many non-sexual reasons, such as showering, sleeping, medical exams, changing clothes, swimming, or relaxing at home. A naked body is not inherently sexual.
• Legal Definition: Criminal Code (Article 609-bis): Italian law defines sexual violence under Article 609-bis of the Criminal Code, consent requires agreement by choice, with the freedom and capacity to decide. Legal guidelines explicitly state that clothing, dress, or lack of physical resistance do not constitute consent.
• Freely Given and Ongoing: Consent must be explicit, active, and can be withdrawn at any time, regardless of the situation or undress.

While it's true that nudity isn't exactly common in North America, your perspective does apply to the few places that allow full nudity.

Very difficult for some to comprehend and, here in North America, as nudism is not a familiar sight, it’s usually taken as consent! Oh for actual freedom!!
