Powerful thighs and buttcheeks

The vagina can squeeze around the tampon when you stand with your legs together.
This is due to how the body’s muscles and anatomy work:
• The pelvic floor muscles are activated: When you stand up—and especially when you keep your legs together—the pelvic floor muscles naturally tense to keep your body stable. Since these muscles surround the vagina, the tension causes the vaginal walls to press together and “squeeze” the tampon.
• The vagina is a potentially expandable space: The vagina is not an open, rigid tube, but an elastic muscular canal whose walls lie flat against each other when it is empty. When something is inside (such as a tampon), the muscles close tightly around the object.
• Change in angle: When you change position from sitting or squatting to standing, the angle of the pelvis also changes slightly, which can make the tampon feel more enclosed.
The vagina may feel tighter and “squeeze” around a tampon when you stand with your legs together and tense your thighs and buttocks.
This is primarily due to how the muscles in and around the pelvic floor work:
• Pelvic floor muscles: The vagina is surrounded by a strong network of muscles called the pelvic floor. When you squeeze your buttocks together and press your thighs together, you automatically activate these muscles, which causes the vaginal walls to press together and close more tightly around the tampon.
