Yes they did, if you've ever seen a picture of kids peeking under the tent it's not cause they want to see the lions or tigers.

Yes, back in the day. Many a young teen got his first glimpse of the female body peeking through tent holes .

I sort of remember them.

I remember that my dad was trying to steer me away from one at a certain carnival site once.

But back then even adult magazine stands were on the street.

Dad wasn't really prudish about it, yet didn't want to get in trouble with mom over it. He already had gotten in a spat with her over taking me to a belly dancing restaurant during the daytime.

No the girls weren't dancing quite yet, but they were there serving.

Fair in a southern town I grew up through my teens, had a tent where adults only could go in. We would go to other side and sneak thru the girls' entrance. It was not a nude show but pasties and short shorts. But after that show guys paid to see it all and alot of crazy stuff as well.
By the time my friend and I were 18 we got in ok but the second act was banned by town.

I recall those tents as a kid when we used to go to the agricultural fairs. The women weren't local......they were from out of state though.
