You're right, the song actually picks up after a very boring start. Maybe that's why it wasn't as big a hit as it truly deserves.

@Vivaci It wasn't played on the radio often enough. They used to play some real dross on the radio in those days and that stuff actually used to sell. I'm talking about crap like Busted and McFly. That trash would often get to number one while the good stuff like "Badass Strippa" struggled to get in the top 20.

@HairbrushDiva Really? Now that's depressing...and thanks to such poor choices, some good songs and great talented artists never get the fame they deserve. 😑

@Vivaci There were a few decent ones in the charts as well, but if I remember rightly the week when I bought "Badass Strippa" the number one was "Obviously" by McFly - the worst single of the year in my opinion (and not very well liked among my friends either). "Badass Strippa" was about number 22.

You know our local radio channel 96.9 classic rock is showing so many ads these days that I want to change channels tbh. I think external factors do screw up a good RJs decisions.

@Vivaci The radio station I listen to now is called Smooth, and they've never played "Badass Strippa" for me to hear it on that station, but to be fair they don't play McFly either.

@Vivaci I have occasionally texted requests in, usually when it's a singer's birthday (e.g. requesting a Madonna song on August 16th).

@Vivaci Usually, if the song requested is a well-known one. I requested Madonna's "True Blue" on her birthday one year and they played that because it was a big hit when it came out and is still popular now.
