I think if you are a teen living at home there's no reason you shouldn't be subject to dad's discipline, even if he chooses to spank as part of your punishment. I was spanked to age 17. I lived at home to age 19 and although I wouldn't have liked it, if dad would have wanted to spank me at age 19, I certainly would have had to submit or move out.

This is the tradition in my country as well. A lad has to earn his own money and to leave his parents house or he had to submit to the domestic rules. In my teen ages, this was the norm (and even nowadays). I was spanked until I was 17/18 years old, without much fuss. I am sure that at the University, if I had failed my exams, I would have earned a good one. Some of my colleagues got it even they were 21 years old or so.

I am from Romania. I am sure that in all East European countries, the CPs work the same, not only in the South States. One of colleagues from the University failed his exams and consequently his father came to the students' hostel and beat him with the belt. He was ashamed, but he confessed that at home he still got spankings with a garden horse, even he was 21 y.o. In the countryside, some lads were whipped (yes, it could be cruel, but it happened) in the house yard, usually totally stripped. I never heard one of the to protest or oppose.

When I was growing up, I never knew anyone to oppose either. Most didn't like it, of course. I began to feel differently about spankings when I was around 14 or 15. In an odd way I looked forward to them, but was also scared when I got them.

May I ask what country you are in? I think this has been normal in the southern USA for a long time, but not so much anymore. I grew up in the 1960's and 70's and older children did get spanked.
My Mother told me that when she was growing up, girls always lived ta home until they were married and typically subject to spanking by their fathers.
