I Like To Compare Spanking Experiences

Interesting to read about the various implements used in various countries.
While brush and belt seem to be “universal”, the slipper seems to be a typically British implement, while the paddle appears to be just as typically American.
The tawse nearly seems to be confined the Scotland and the Martinet to France.
Here in Denmark, the belt was always the preferred implement to fathers, while mothers mainly used a brush or – a wooden coathanger!
Actually, the coathanger seemed to be national implement of the nation for many years.
It was never used in my childhood home, but I know it was in many.
Anyone knows of any other implements specific to certain countries or regions?

I got the slipper on my bare bottom, both my parents used it. My dad occasionally used a belt, but mostly he used a slipper. I've never been spanked with a coat hanger.

@MartinII: We didn't even have many wooden coat hangers in the house, they were nearly all wiry metal ones, and most of them were in use hanging coats anyway. A slipper or a belt was more convenient to use.

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: My encounter with a wooden coat hanger was actually in a hotel room. Completely bizarre episode. There is of course a famous film, Mommy Dearest, in which Joan Crawford thrashes her daughter with a metal coat hanger.

@MartinII: I saw that film on TV in the early 1990s. I wasn't spanked in a hotel room, I tended to be less mischievous on holiday. My sister got spanked once in a hotel room, our mum spanked her with a flat leather sandal (she was wearing them, of course). I've been spanked with those as well, it was like an alternative to the slipper. It depended which was convenient to use at the time.

@MartinII: My parents didn't bring a strap with them on holiday. They always had their sandals on and they could always take one off to spank me with it if I misbehaved.

@MartinII: I see. My dad always wore a belt but he only occasionally used it for spanking. It was actually no worse than the slipper.

@Tripdelta4 Yes, when I was growing up a spanking meant a hand spanking, probably over the knee. Other forms of cp were described according to the implement used.
