Not only was it embarrassing at the time, I would be embarrassed to see them the next time I saw them. In fact once someone witnessed me getting spanked I would always be embarrassed to see them.

@nickir I was still getting spankings in my late teens and by that time I NEVER invited friends over. That would have been way too embarrassing! I was so ashamed I was still getting spanked at that age.

My mom's friends were still an issue for me though. If they were much older it might have been easier for me to deal with but she generally ran with a younger crowd. She was in her mid 40s at that time and most of the ladies she hung out with were in their 30s (one was in late 20s). What made things worse is she made new friends frequently and new people came over that never met me. So I got a fresh round of humiliation or at the very least fear of being humiliated.

I guess I was lucky my mom wasn't very sociable so we didn't often have people over or go to their houses. I got spanked until I was 19 but, having been brought up with it & a strict mom who didn't like questions when she decided to spank, I wasn't particularly ashamed or embarrassed by it. Tho I was smart enough not to tell friends or shout it from the rooftops either.

The neighbors knew, of course, but I didn't speak to them much so it didn't matter that I was very loud when I got spanked. Screamed like a baby, so I probably would have been VERY embarrassed if friends knew. But the last time I was spanked in front of a friend was when I was 14.

Sometimes my mom would spank me in private when company was over. She would take me upstairs. But then she would call me back downstairs minutes later when I was still crying. That was embarrassing too.
