Is my mom getting soft or wise?

My little brother came in 3 hours late last night. Mom said she would deal with him when she gets home from work today. That usually means a spanking right before dinner. But today she turned off the service to his phone and change the Wi-Fi password. I thought he was going to cry when she said that. I just came home from work on break to grab a snack and he was sitting in his room looking devastated. I asked him if he was okay he told me he asked Mom to spank him to get his internet back and she said no he has to go two days with no online gaming or social media. I think the poor kid is losing his mind LOL he is taking this far worse than any other punishment he's ever had
