This appeared on national news in the USA some years ago... the bid to ban spanking in schools, using a girl getting paddled as the headline image.
But school paddling is still very much alive and kicking in 19 U.S. states... mostly in the deep south. In Texas it's a traditional way of life in some schools!
And the stats show that a surprisingly high percentage of students who get paddled are actually 12th grade girls (17-18 year-olds), who choose spanking over suspension in order not to affect their grades... rather than rough and rowdy boys who push the boundaries too far.
