My name is Mandy

My name is Mandy and I am a very old women, frail but still alert!
I have been interested in this subject for very many years and have participated as target, spectator and wielder of the slipper. In my youth, and where I lived, it would be hard to find one of my peers who had not been spanked. It was common at home and at school, although at school nobody called it spanking -slippering, caning, whacking or belting were the terns.

I find it fascinating that you and evidently many others like you have such nostalgia for the discipline you experienced in your youth, despite how painful and embarrassing those experiences must have felt at the time. The more I read and think about these things, the more I feel that society has seriously lost its way. In the space of my adult lifetime, the discipline that used to be thought of as natural, normal and necessary has become the worst thing imaginable, yet at the same time children are growing up with no freedom to play, explore their surroundings or interact naturally with their peers at all. It's hardly surprising that depression and mental illness are increasing massively.
