I Got the Slipper at School.

Like many women of my generation receiving the slipper as a punishment at school was not an uncommon experience. I certainly got it, 4 whacks across the seat of my gym shorts from a PE teacher. It left my bottom feeling rather fiery for a while, but it did no harm and I was later grateful to have had the experience!

At my school in London, you could expect to be slippered or caned in front of the class from about the age of 7. Many of the teachers had years of experience at this and could administer a punishment both safely and effectively.

Many years later, I was discussing with a boyfriend our schooldays and the punishments we were given at school, it turned out he too had been given the slipper on a few occasions. In fact he wanted me to slipper his bare bottom [but not too hard!] as a reminder and for a bit of erotic fun. I was a bit apprehensive initially, but I soon got into it and became quite proficient, according to my boyfriend!

I attended a minor private faith based school and in the 90s, we were still slippered. I never smiled like the lady in your picture during those days at least!

@MelissaDrummond Was that in Belgium, where you are now (according to your profile page)?

@ArtieKat yes, that's right

@MelissaDrummond When was CP outlawed in Belgian schools?

@ArtieKat it's not specifically banned in schools. Every time a proposal is brought to our parliament, it's never properly discussed. The government maintains there are sufficient protections in other laws but our country is often pilloried by the Council of Europe for failing to enact specific rules. In the Flemish area, its banned in alternative care settings, but it's a ban, not a law. Its not banned at home, despite moves to outlaw it. They never get anywhere. Nevertheless at my children's school, I haven't heard of corporal punishment being used, so that may be a voluntary decision.
