Grounding would be worse though. The frustration of being home when your friends are out having fun; and everyone knowing why you are not there. At least spanking is quicker and you can begin again with a clean slate, forgiven and ready to behave better. They do it because they love you and part of love is discipline. They want to guide you, to help you grow into a responsible, decent adult. I can understand why you hate it but if you did not hate it, it would not be a proper punishment. At an early age this practice should be stopped by parents and after 15 should only be applied by a boyfriend or husband ONLY as a prelude to sex. Never for anything else.
