I Have Been Spanked With A Switch

So if you have been spanked with a switch before or use a switch on your children then how severe are the marks? Is it just some red welts or worse than that? I've heard stories of the switch cutting the skin causing bleeding. How many strokes do you/do your children receive? and do you/do your children have to strip naked for a switching? How far is too far with the use of a switch? I find the wooden spoon much safer.

@johnsonjelena45 how could it be "too effective"?
MrsPeterEvans · 31-35, F
The worst I got was the cane. That could raise welts and graze to bleeding

@MrsPeterEvans That sounds cruel 😢 I could never make my child bleed like that 😭 What would usually follow after a caning?
EmmaGem · 36-40, F
@EmmaGem @MrsPeterEvans Were you hugged and comforted afterwards?
MrsPeterEvans · 31-35, F
@EmmaGem I had corner time first. Then hugs and sent to bed usually

I have gotten it — it always breaks my skin for me.

I have been switched twice in my life ever. Once as a kid for punishment and once as an adult by my wife as an experiment. When I got it as a kid I remember it was bare bottom, I dont remember how many strokes i got but it stung like crazy and left long raised red welts. The worst part was it itched after the sting went away. I remember going to school and having a hard time sitting still because it itched sitting on the wooden desk seat and scratching it made it sting a bit. I would rather be paddled any day!

And I dont spank my kids so they wont know. I wouldn't switch them even if I did spank.

There seems little reason to do anything that breaks the skin or causes deep bruising. I never received or witnessed any punishment that produced marks that weren't gone in 12 - 24 hours. Some people do mark more easily than others but punishment need be physically severe to be effective.
@thecharlotteward I completely agree that punishment need not be "physically severe" to be effective. What makes punishment effective is the "buy in" or "acceptance" of it as deserved and at least somewhat "well-intentioned."

Did you get with 2 switches as bounded birch, or the 2 switch was used sequential,
like one than the secound one.

I got the switch on the palms of the hands in my primary school - six strokes that made my palms red and stinging for 2-3 hours. The switch were/is in use here and of course it leaves marks, without cutting the skin, for usually it is flexible (fresh-cut) and not too thick. It is effective on the bare skin, indeed: bare bum, thighs or legs. As a babysitter I remember I switched once an 8-year-old brat boy - I gave him about 10 strokes and made him to be an angel for the rest of the day

What made you ask for that? Do you or your children receive corporal punishment? I think that the belt is the worst that should be given, if such a punishment seems to be necessary at all. Children certainly shouldn't be fully exposed, while in an adult it adds humiliation to the punishment. I have never been treated like that.

I never got it, but the switch was used by my girlfriend's mom.
I always got the wooden spoon or the belt I understand it horrible getting the switch

I would never use a switch. Bare hand is best, maybe a hairbrush. Nothing as cruel as a switch
carsonfry · 22-25, M
I just got it with the belt or hand.

Wooden spoon is definitely much safer!
