A spanking isn't abuse. It's discipline and helps the kid learn right from wrong. Now using a belt is abuse. A hand is never going to be considered abuse. In fact if you called the cops, and said that someone was spanked, they'd probably laugh and say "they probably deserved it. They probably learned their lesson too"

How can it teach them right from wrong when you you're using violence to show it? A fully grown adult should know that it isn't wise to hit an innocent, defenceless little kid who can't do anything to stop it.

Its a punishment. Its not supposed to be stopped. No pain no gain. And its not violence if the pain lasts an hour or two then its back to normal. It teaches them consequences are in order for those that dont listen

It also teaches them that no matter what you do in life, a bigger, stronger person will always be there to beat the absolute shit out of you. And may I ask, what are you punishing them for that is so bad they deserve to be hit by the very person who's job it is to protect and love them no matter what?
