Basically everyone in the south Spanks their children strictly and harshly. Often times with a belt but not always. Anyone raised in the south who says they weren't spanked are liars.

I always got paddled on the bare bottom, even in high school. It embarrassed me to be spanked just like a little kid in high school, but any time I would tell my mom that she just told me that you couldn’t spell embarrrased without “bare-assed”.

No, you’re good. A lot of people forget that there’s a whole bunch of country between the East and West Coast that contains lots of rural land that’s populated by conservative, religious people who still use corporal punishment as a displinary method well into true adolescence of their kids @timburton1798
