Corner Day [I Had Cornertime]
The worst type of corner time is something my family called a corner day. It would always occur on a Saturday - a day when you wanted to go out and be with friends; a day when you wanted to sleep in; a day that was supposed to be all yours.
Corner day started at 7AM, way too early to get up on a weekend and I would be expected to be up and standing in the corner at that time. I stayed there until 7:30 and then got a 15 minute break. At 7:45 I was back in the corner again and this continued until 4PM when I would be set free to go about what remained of my day.
If I remember correctly it came to twelve cornertime periods over nine hours. During my cornertime all I could think about was what I would do with my precious 15 minute breaks. During my breaks I barely had time to go to the bathroom and get something to eat. That time was also spent dreading the next half hour.
There was an alarm that was set to start and end each cornertime period. I remember that it beeped 5 times and if I wasn't in the corner by the time it stopped I would be given an extra 30 minutes at the end of the day. I never wanted that so I made sure I was in my corner on time.
I'm sure that there will be questions. Here are the ones I expect and my answers:
1. Was I naked or did I have my bottom bared? No, I could dress any way I wanted. I always made sure I had really comfortable clothes
2. Was a spanking involved with this punishment? No, my parents didn't believe in spanking.
3. Did I have to stand in a certain position, like with my hands on my head? No, but if I was caught moving around too much I would be given an extra period. And yes, that did happen a couple of times.
4. Did anyone see you in the corner? Yes, but not that often. My siblings who also were subject to the punishment were very aware of the humiliation that went with being seen standing in a corner. They were very sensitive and rarely brought people over. I do remember once my brother came home with a friend who was a guy I really liked. It was really really embarrassing and he apologized later.
5. How old were you when you received these punishments? I (and my siblings) received this punishments throughout our teen years. Before we were teenagers cornertime consisted of a single 20 minute period.
