I too prefer those images .
I don’t think they all posed for photographers out of necessity . Many undoubtedly did .
Some wouid have been artists models , a regular , well paid position , often the lover of the artist .
What ever their motives , I’m glad so many posed when in their physical prime .
When my wife was in her 20s she posed for my camera . I asked her to have some pro photos taken. for our personal collection . . She agreed . The guy told her physical beauty was just a temporary gift and to have it captured on film .
She and I were pleased she did .
He persuaded her to pose for him again , for his portfolio and for a few of his fellow photographers.
