I find it sad to see things corrupted so
It is good for man to dominate his wife, and dominance over a woman is surely pleasing, but it is not good for women to corrupt themselves together

@th3r0n dominance is good when a man does it, but it's corrupt when a woman does it? What? 🤣 The 50's called and they want their viewpoints back.

@NerdyPotato a "weak man" from the 50's would be able to bend a "strong man" from this generation around his finger like a pretzel around a hot dog
Say you're not a real man without saying it
Oh wait, you did

@th3r0n if being "strong" means treating others like a lesser being, I'm happy to be respectful instead.

@th3r0n it is refreshing to see a highly religious and old-fashioned person agree that gender is a spectrum though. You don't see that often.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@NerdyPotato masculinity and femininity are a spectrum, and it is intended for men to be on the masculine end, as it is written that the effeminate will not inherit the kingdom of God
Gender is defined by genetics and equipment, gender roles are a traditional and biblical type of thing
And no, please don't misunderstand me, a man is meant to give honor to a woman as unto the weaker vessel of the spirit which is the flesh
Submission isn't easy, but a woman is meant to do it for her husband
Leadership and loving someone so much you nourish them like your own flesh and even put their needs above your own in love but take authority and lead strongly when needed, gently when able, that's not easy either
These are the male and female roles, can get supporting verses

Ephesians 5:15-29 YLT98
[15] See, then, how exactly ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise, [16] redeeming the time, because the days are evil; [17] because of this become not fools, but — understanding what [is] the will of the Lord, [18] and be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in the Spirit, [19] speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, [20] giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father; [21] subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of God. [22] The wives! to your own husbands subject yourselves, as to the Lord, [23] because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly, and he is saviour of the body, [24] but even as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives to their own husbands in everything. [25] The husbands! love your own wives, as also the Christ did love the assembly, and did give himself for it, [26] that he might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying, [27] that he might present it to himself the assembly in glory, not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished; [28] so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife — himself he doth love; [29] for no one ever his own flesh did hate, but doth nourish and cherish it, as also the Lord — the assembly,

@th3r0n the bible says many things that are abhorrent. I don't care what it says on other topics because it's clearly not all good and even with that book in hand, it comes down to your own judgment. I can apply that directly to every situation instead of looking up what a book says about it and judging if that's right or wrong.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@NerdyPotato it's right about everything, it calls you out so you hate it
NerdyPotato · M
@th3r0n if you really think it's right about everything, you need new morals. I would never cut off the hands of a woman who teaches, or stone someone for being gay. And that's not just because it would land me in jail, but also because I find it utterly wrong. And if not doing those things land me in hell, so be it. I'd rather go there with a clean conscience than to heaven with a heavy heart. But to each their own.

@NerdyPotato you wouldn't do a lot the Bible says, like refrain from lying and abstain from fornication
