Does it actually work?

I’d love to hear if it actually works! What triggers one uses to put someone in a hypnotic trance…? Things like snapping one’s finger makes for an interesting sci-fi story but isn’t practical at all.

It doesn't work like that at all. Hypnosis can't force you do something you don't want to do. You can be put into a hypnotic state, but you are still aware and can take control back at any point.

Hypnosis works best if it's something you agree with to begin with. For example: If you want to say quit smoking it can help because it's something you want to do.

I'm afraid stage 'hypnotists' have done a lot of damage to the realm of hypnotherapy, lol

It doesn't work like that sadly, hypnosis is real but it's better for things someone actively wants to do.
I've been hypnotized before, but it's nothing like on TV. As fun as it would be to make someone dance when you snap your fingers, that's not a thing.

Certain types of people are suggestable.
I am.
But I wouldn't suggest suggesting it.

A great indicator is to have the person sit in a chair, relax and tilt their head back, look at the ceiling and slowly close both eyes. 🤓
