I Wish I Could Discipline Other Peoples Kids

I have disciplined many children in my career as a teacher. But when I was bringing up my own children it was widely accepted that other adults could smack children. I smacked friends of my daughters relatively frequently.

I was frequently spanked by my friends' parents, just as my friends were spanked by my parents. It was the way things were in those days.
