How many lines did you have to write as a punishment (linewriting)?

I had to write multiplication tables into the hundreds. I don’t recall the exact number of lines.

Writing out in chalk on the blackboard 4 pages of the Hobbit.

The black board would hold about a page

You then had it checked by teacher and then had to wipe it out.

Then next page…

None. I.dod at the beginning, but he realized it didn't work.

I remember 800 lines once

I don't remember doing more than 100 at a time - but we're talking about nearly 60 years ago... 😁

2 novels no epilogues but a possible additional work

I can only recall one instance of this happening, and it was just my biological father being unreasonable over a misunderstanding.
He was great at that.

That didn’t teach me a damn thing

I don’t remember getting more than 50. I set them as a prefect too, I think only 25.

I remember writing 100 lines many times with “I will not…. Etc”
