It's not the discipline I craved, but the attention. My parents ignored me, unless there was something they wanted from me or needed for me to do. They were not emotionally available,[i] at all. [/i] So, when I would get spanked, I would receive 100% of their attention. But that was the ONLY time.

@updown2020 Yes, one way or another. The pain of being spanked was less than that of being ignored.
