It is funny to me how Arabs can have names they don't know their origins until minority peeps like my self are in the picture.
Lot of Arabs had Amazigh ancestors and forgot other parts of their identity due to colonialism and other historical reasons and assimilated. They don't speak any of the Tamazight languages nor understand the culture.
Weird/insulting names were many times given by French administration. People are allowed to change such family names.
