Why is it they say the average penis is 5.5 inches

They say it's 5.5 but for some reason most are bigger. Is this to make people not feel bad? I am curious if we took all the guys in here what the avg size would actually be

Mine measures 6 1/2” most guys get the 7” by pushing the ruler into their soft fat. I don’t have any fat there. I’m not a fat boy.
