Is sex "fun"?

Most people would answer that question as "obviously yes!". But how do we define "fun"? In my mind "fun" is something rather shallow and lighthearted that brings up a smile. But the erotic, where sexual pleasure exists, is a completely different territory. Sexual pleasure for me is an intense, awe-inspiring experience quite different than anything "fun" I can think off. I don't think that anyone who reacts with a smile to sexual pleasure really "gets" it or has ever been able to experience the full intensity that erotic/sexual pleasure can bring.

Is it just me who thinks that "fun" and erotic pleasure just don't mix...?
